Every major Echo release is named after a remarkable object in the night sky, celebrating another milestone in the continued evolution of the platform.

Our latest release, Butterfly, takes its name from the Butterfly Nebula, a striking planetary nebula in the constellation Scorpius. Like its namesake, this release introduces a collection of enhancements that give operators greater flexibility, improved automation and more powerful planning tools.

Introducing Echo: Butterfly, the latest release of Echo dispatch software, featuring Polygon Zones, trip creation from planning screens, automatic auto-allocation presets and driver tipping.

The Butterfly release introduces several new capabilities across the Echo platform, including:

  • Polygon Zones for creating custom-shaped operational areas directly within Echo
  • Manual Trip Creation from the Planning Screens to streamline controller workflows
  • Automatic Auto-Allocation Preset Switching to adapt dispatch strategies throughout the day
  • Driver Tips via Booking Apps, providing passengers with an easy way to reward excellent service

Each feature has been designed to simplify day-to-day operations, improve planning accuracy and give operators greater control over how their transport services are managed.

Over the coming weeks we'll explore each feature in more detail and demonstrate how the Butterfly release helps controllers, dispatchers and transport operators work more efficiently across the entire Echo platform.
